Was nice to read this. Never actually climbed with either of them, but bumped into them on the crags many times. Remember meeting Steve for the first time one weekend in the Elphin hut - some great and funny tales. Steve and Michael Barnard came back from a days cragging further North, with tales of a bunch of new routes they had done on a crag they spotted from the road. After perusing the guidebook (Northern Highlands North - put together by Andy, of course!) later that evening, turned out it was a well established crag. How we laughed...
